TOPEKA, KS- Kansas Senators Sam Brownback and Pat Roberts today announced their endorsement for Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins’ re-election bid for the 2nd Congressional District.

Brownback and Roberts cited Jenkins’ accomplishments in office and consistent voting record. 

Senator Brownback said, “I support Congresswoman Jenkins’ work for the people of Kansas and her commitment to preserving conservative values.”

 “Congresswoman Jenkins is a very effective leader for the people of the Second District,” said Senator Pat Roberts. “Sam, Lynn and I recently passed legislation to assist the residents of Treece who have been battling a terrible land contamination problem. Together we mounted several major hurdles to bring these Kansans the aid they so desperately needed.”

Jenkins has also worked with the Kansas senators to prevent the transfer of terrorist detainees to Ft. Leavenworth, and they have joined together to oppose the liberal Democrats’ government takeover of health care proposed by Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Leader Harry Reid.

“Lynn understands the difficulties we face and has the right priorities for Kansas and America,” said Brownback.

“We need to do everything possible to re-elect Lynn in 2010,” Roberts said. “It’s important to our state and to our country.”

Senators Brownback and Roberts said they look forward to joining Jenkins on the campaign trail in 2010.
