TOPEKA, Kan. – In today's debate in Johnson County, liberal Democrat Greg Orman continues to mislead Kansas voters on his long-standing support for amnesty for illegal immigrants.

“Greg Orman has repeatedly laid out a plan for immigration - it is amnesty plain and simple. Mr. Orman is trying to take both sides of every issue to hide the fact that President Obama and Harry Reid want Greg Orman elected to the Senate because they know the only thing that can stop executive amnesty is a Senate Republican Majority with Pat Roberts,” campaign manager Corry Bliss said.

Kansas City Star Report

• In a  recent profile story on the race, the  Kansas City Star also specifically cited the issue of amnesty as a key difference, noting that Roberts opposes amnesty, while Orman  “supports a path to citizenship for some of the estimated 11 million undocumented immigrants now in the U.S.”

Orman State Fair Debate Quote:

• "How do we make it fair to taxpayers? If you're here on an undocumented basis, you should register with ICE, pay a fine, obey our laws, hold down a job and pay taxes -- and then I think you should be able to stay here." (

Associated Press:

• Orman says it's not practical to attempt to deport the millions of immigrants in the U.S. illegally and added that doing so would hurt agriculture and food processing. He said immigrants should have to register with the federal government, pay a fine and hold a job.(

Orman Interview with KSNW-TV:

• “It’s just not practical to say that we’re going to find and send back to other countries 11 million undocumented people. And frankly, it’s not even advisable.” (
