Associated Press Reports The Obama Administration Is Already Ordering Millions Of New Green Cards To Prepare For Post-Election Effort
TOPEKA, Kan. – U.S. Senator Pat Roberts made the following statement regarding today’s eye-opening story by the Associated Press that the Department of Homeland Security is already ordering as many as 34 million new green cards – including 9 million for next year alone - to prepare for an expected post-election executive order by President Obama granting amnesty to millions of illegals.
“The news that the Obama Administration is already secretly preparing to grant amnesty to millions of illegals after this election is an outrage and I will do everything in my power to stop it,” U.S. Senator Pat Roberts said today. “From the President’s efforts to unilaterally close Gitmo and bring captured terrorists to Kansas to this latest effort to grant amnesty by executive order, the President seems to believe that he can substitute his pen for the U.S. Congress. That isn’t going to happen on my watch.”
“Unfortunately, my Democratic opponent Greg Orman has made clear that he will stand with President Obama instead of standing up to him. Mr. Orman has made clear that he supports the President on amnesty by executive order and that he will be a rubberstamp for President Obama’s liberal agenda. That is why we need to elect a Senate Republican Majority in November so we can stop this abuse of power dead in its tracks,” Roberts concluded.
ABC’s Rick Klein wrote the following regarding this morning’s report by the Associated Press:
- “That's right: The federal government is already ordering as many as 34 million new cards over five years to accommodate legal changes that haven't been announced, much less approved by Congress….And the idea that tax dollars are set to be expended to support a sweeping new policy, before that policy is even announced or enacted? How better to confirm voters' mistrust in government?”
Orman Debate Quote:
- "How do we make it fair to taxpayers? If you're here on an undocumented basis, you should register with ICE, pay a fine, obey our laws, hold down a job and pay taxes -- and then I think you should be able to stay here." (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lCHxm2yi0S0&feature=youtu.be)
- Orman says it's not practical to attempt to deport the millions of immigrants in the U.S. illegally and added that doing so would hurt agriculture and food processing. He said immigrants should have to register with the federal government, pay a fine and hold a job.(http://iwidget.infodesk.com/infodisplay/story/apn090620141624494598.html?CU=iwi9538&APP=10)
Orman Interview with KSNW-TV:
- “It’s just not practical to say that we’re going to find and send back to other countries 11 million undocumented people. And frankly, it’s not even advisable.” (http://ksn.com/2014/07/24/raw-video-interview-with-greg-orman/)
