AFL-CIO Sending Ground Troops To Kansas For Orman
TOPEKA, Kan. – On the day before a group of top liberal Democratic donors led by the son of billionaire George Soros are set to raise money for Greg Orman in New York City, the country's top Big Labor union is also now backing Orman's candidacy.
National Journal reports that the AFL-CIO which was one of President Obama's strongest supporters and has vowed to spend over $300 million to defeat Republicans, will send it's troops into Kansas to help Orman.
"When Big Labor went all in for President Obama's re-election in 2012 they cited 'shared values' and in endorsing Democrat Greg Orman they clearly recognize he shares those same liberal values as well," Roberts for Campaign Manager Corry Bliss said today. "The AFL-CIO was one of the earliest supporters of ObamaCare, the President's failed stimulus boondoggle, and most recently they've called for amnesty by executive order, so it's little surprise that Greg Orman is their candidate in this race. In contrast, Pat Roberts has been a strong opponent of their liberal agenda which is why he's been endorsed by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Kansas Farm Bureau, and the National Federation of Independent Business.”
“Big Labor going all in for Greg Orman is just another reminder that a vote for Orman is a vote for Barack Obama and Harry Reid," Bliss concluded.
