Senator Roberts fought to ensure the new Air Force refueling tanker would be be built by an American company.  Then he worked with the Department of Defense and ensured the mission to fly the new KC-46A tanker be located at McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita.

Senator Roberts succeeded in the effort to bring the 1st Infantry Division back home to Fort Riley in Junction City, KS. -

Senator Roberts fought for new schools on post at Ft. Riley where men and women in uniform were sending children to overcrowded and decaying schools. -


Senator Roberts led the effort to bring the cutting edge National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility(NBAF) to K-State and the Manhattan, KS community.  A project that has created over 1,000 construction jobs, and when completed will create over 300 permanent positions and bring a $3.5 billion injection into the Kansas econom over the next 20 years.- ---


Senator Roberts has been an outspoken opponent of Obamacare from day 1. He fought against it at every step of the process, and voted against it on the Senate floor.

Senator Roberts has supported every effort to defund, dismantle, and repeal Obamacare.

 Senator Roberts was the first to call for the resignation of Kathleen Sebelius after the failed launch of the Obamacare federal exchange website and following the many delays and waivers of Obamacare implementation. Sebelius announced her resignation in April, 2014 -

Senator Roberts is the author of legislation to stop Common Core and keep the federal government from influencing state and local decision making on education curriculum.

Senator Roberts’ introduced and ushered through the passage of the Small Business Child Care Act allowing small businesses to work together or with other local child care agencies to provide child care services for employees.


Senator Roberts introduced a bill with 39 cosponsors to prevent the IRS from targeting groups based on their political beliefs. The IRS recently announced they would rewrite the proposed rules in question. -

Following the outcry of active students left hungry by new USDA school breakfast and lunch calorie restrictions, Roberts used his post as ranking member of the Senate Agriculture Nutrition and Forestry Committee to successfully persuade USDA to reconsider the rules. -
