Financial Management” Program Content

Module 1 Fundamentals of Business, Economics, and Management

The introduction to the MBA program allows students to become deeply immersed in the goals, objectives, and content of the program, and to set key emphases in the upcoming training. As part of team building, students get to know each other, learn about their motivations for entering the program, share information about professional and personal interests, remove psychological barriers to communication, and develop the rules of interaction in the group for effective learning. Thus, the group takes the first step in networking.

The peculiarity and success of the first module among the trainees is that it includes an optimal combination of academics, practicality and active forms of training. From the very beginning the trainees work a lot in groups, discussing topics and business situations presented by ForsNate teachers and colleagues in the group, they look for answers to the question “What is it like in my company (business)?” and what solutions can be found in a certain situation, they prepare defenses for group presentations.

Module 2 Manager’s Personal Development

This training module presents an analysis of organizational behavior in the context of modern business. Students consider types of power and leadership styles; factors that influence the behavior of individuals and groups within organizations, and how organizations affect their internal culture and respond to their environment. Motivation and its use in management activities; the culture of employee engagement in a company (business) are touched upon.

One of the goals of this block of the course is to form ideas about the socio-psychological aspects of management. In particular, the discipline “Typology of personality and development of manager’s competences” reveals the social role of team leaders, as well as social and psychological features of performing managerial functions and solving professional tasks, including in difficult interpersonal situations.

In this training block you will be able to discover and experiment with different methods that help to achieve the desired results and make clearer decisions.
All of the hands-on exercises focus on solving business problems and improving the performance of the manager/entrepreneur/leader.

Module 3 Modern Business Management Strategies and Technologies

This module is the core of ForsNate’s financial management program.
Current knowledge and practice of teachers and students are concentrated here in the disciplines of strategic, operational management, project and change management, crisis management, HR-strategies, and sustainable development.

The main objective of the training within this block is acquisition and mastering of applied knowledge and practical tools due to which the company on the basis of effective management of the complex of operations (functional business processes) can be transformed into a financially successful, developing, sustainable and transparent mechanism for implementation of business strategy.

The educational module “Modern Strategies and Technologies of Management in Business” is also supplemented by master-classes featuring teachers, ForsNate graduates and guest speakers.

The module 4 Finance. Managerial Finance.

The training module consists of three disciplines and provides a comprehensive overview of the fundamentals and practices of business finance and their application to the day-to-day financial challenges in businesses.

Marketing and competitiveness module 5

The disciplines within this module look at marketing from the perspective of the customer and their decision-making, market research and consumer preferences, and analysis of the relationship between business goals and companies’ marketing goals (in terms of description and current practice with regard to product, distribution, pricing, and communication strategies).

Marketing management disciplines are updated in accordance with current business demands, while students will correlate both with past cases and marketing classics.

Module 6 Entrepreneurship

The key disciplines of the entrepreneurship module – “Building entrepreneurial ecosystems: typology, business models, and workshop” and “Creating and developing project teams” – are designed, using an activity-based approach, to train students in modern methods and technologies:

  • search and development of modern business ideas (startups and internal projects),
  • the principles of creating innovative projects,
  • mechanisms for creating a value proposition,
  • the principles of choosing an effective business model,
  • business planning skills,
  • skills of assessing investment opportunities in projects and possibilities for attracting external and internal sources of financing,
  • approaches to minimization of entrepreneurial risks,
  • skills for working in distributed teams,
  • presentations,
  • discussions, and crash tests.

Module 7 Specialization Module

The purpose of the main training module of the specialization is to expand knowledge in the field of financial management, to teach the technique of calculation of the main indicators of financial management and give directions for their use in making management decisions in the field of financial and economic activity of the company.

Course objectives:

  • to disclose the basic concepts and models of financial management, modern indicators for assessing the effectiveness of the company;
  • develop methods and techniques of financial management in the company.

In the process of studying the basic concepts and basic indicators of financial management, as well as the logic of the functioning of the financial mechanism of the company. Particular attention is paid to the formation of a rational structure of the sources of funds of the company, integrated management of working capital of the company. The logic of presentation of the course gives an opportunity to get theoretical knowledge and practical skills of making managerial decisions in the main directions of financial management.
